Welcome!  My name is Jane Gile - and this Fall 2017, I'm excited to begin my fourth year teaching at Kasson-Mantorville High School.  This year at KMHS, I will be teaching: Enriched Geometry and Honors Geometry.

Educational Background:
  • M.Ed. Teaching and Learning - Saint Mary's University of Minnesota (2010-2012)
  • B.S. Secondary Mathematics Education - Saint Cloud State University (2000-2005) - I played in the NCC Division II Conference on the SCSU Volleyball team (4 years) and SCSU Track and Field team (1 year) and was an SCSU Academic Honors Program member.

Teaching Background:
  • Kasson-Mantorville High School (Kasson, MN) - Math Teacher (2014-Present)
  • Buffalo High School (Buffalo, MN) - Math Teacher (2005-2013), 10th grade Volleyball Coach (2005-2010)

My husband, Tom, and I have two daughters, Peyton (7 years old) and Abby (5.5 years old).  Our family of four moved to the Rochester area in November 2013.  We enjoy spending time at our cabin near Itasca State Park, biking, visiting nature centers and regional/state parks, fishing, boating/swimming/skiing, and being outdoors in general.  I enjoy gardening, being with family, attending sporting events and fine art events, and my favorite sports are volleyball (I played in college) and track (I did long and triple jump, 200m/4x200 relay, and javelin in HS and I threw javelin in college).

As a teaching professional, it is important for me to build positive relationships with all students (and their families), as well as facilitate an effective learning environment within our classroom. I want students to become passionate lifelong learners and have a feeling of belonging at KMHS.  Please feel free to contact me at any time regarding your child's progress in our class.  Let's make it a great year!
