I am a firm believer that all students CAN do math. Research has shown that students who believe that one’s ability to learn mathematics is a predetermined part of who they are (fixed mindset) display less persistence on complicated tasks compared with other students who understand effort to be more important (growth mindset). I view mistakes as important learning opportunities and I strive to create a learning experience where students are free to ask questions and make mistakes. I am more than willing to assist any student seeking extra practice. This year will look a little different because I will be teaching from home, but I encourage students to call, email or ask to set up a google meet if they need assistance (see Contact Me tab). Sometimes just 5 minutes of one-on-one help can make all the difference!
