Senior Year Calendar of Events
September 8, 2020--Junior/Senior Open Lunch Begins for those students who have turned in the signed Senior Open Lunch Contract.
September 2020--Senior Parent Information meeting; Virtual via Email
Postponed; TBD--Class of 2021 Senior Class Picture @ 8:00am on the KM Stadium Field. Please arrive by 7:50am.
Mrs. Bielen, HS Counselor, will send out information via email to senior parents about senior year expectations/dates; the college application process and other important events for senior year.
October 2020--Financial Aid Meeting
The Financial Aid Meeting this year will be a pre-recorded presentation from Sara Kling-Punt, RCTC Transition Advisor. This presentation will be emailed out to senior parents by October 1, 2020. October 1, 2020 is the date when the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) window opens up. If parents have questions regarding financial aid after watching the presentation they can schedule an appointment (zoom meeting ) with Sara and she is happy to help.
October 6, 2020--ACT or ASVAB Test for Seniors (rescheduled from March 2020)
The ACT test or ASVAB test will be administered to seniors who have not yet taken an ACT test or ASVAB test and need to for graduation. Seniors who have taken an ACT test already can elect to take the ACT at KM on this day for FREE if they choose. All administration and testing will be done during school hours. The test is FREE.
October 14, 2020-- Senior Baby Pictures are due for the yearbook.

October 1-31, 2020--"MN College Knowledge Month" (application fees waived)
Click here to see what Minnesota colleges/universities are waiving application fees for the entire month of October or for the week of October 25-31, 2021. Great opportunity to save some money! Mrs. Bielen will also be providing college application help this week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) during BRIDGE time in the Learning Center.
October 19 & 21, 2020--Senior Meeting during advisory with Jostens Rep; PAC
Seniors will receive Jostens packet information for ordering caps/gowns/diplomas. In this packet will be a card to fill out senior names for diplomas. Please make sure this is filled out completely and correctly. PSEO students are invited to come during BRIDGE time (9:10-9:35) or stop in the main office the next school day to pick up information. Any questions about graduation orders can be directed to Nicky Wilke, secretary, in the High School Office, 634-2961. If she can't answer it she will give you the contact information to the Jostens Rep.
October 23 & 27, 2020--Senior Cap and Gown Orders Due with Jostens; Commons. The Jostens Rep will be here to collect Senior Cap and Gown Orders in the Commons. Jostens will be from 11am-1pm (over both 1st and 2nd lunches) in the Commons on these dates. PSEO students may come in during either time or place their orders/drop off packets in the High School main office.
TBD---Senior Survey. Seniors will take a senior survey during advisory. This survey will ask seniors what their post-secondary plans are where they want their "final" high school transcript (transcript stamped with graduation date) sent if they will be enrolling at a college in the fall.
March 2, 2021--No School for Seniors due to the Junior required ACT graduation test.
March 26, 2021--Senior Pictures due for the yearbook.
April 10, 2021--Junior/Senior Prom
Prom tickets will be on sale in the commons before school or in the Activities Office (date to be determined).
April 20 & April 21, 2021--Senior Meeting during advisory; Forum Room.
Senior class advisors will discuss the last month of high school itinerary and hand out permission slips for the senior class trip. Senior class advisors will also review seniors' personal and group responsibilities as they conclude their final month of high school.
***Also during this Senior Meeting--Jostens will be handing out graduation announcements/caps/gowns.
PSEO/Early Grad students may pick up during lunch times (11:00am-1pm) or the next school day in the main office. Otherwise, the Main Office will let these students know when they can pick up their caps/gowns before/after school.
May 7, 2021---Turn in parental permission slip/money for Senior Class Trip to Mrs. Walsh and/or Mrs. Enders by 4:00 pm. If the permission slip is not turned in by the deadline the student will attend regular class that day in lieu of the senior class trip. Students will keep the make-up slip; this will be collected as you board the bus for the trip.
May 19, 2021--Senior Scholarship & Award Night; 7pm MN Wifi Performing Arts Center
Seniors are encouraged to bring in copies of scholarships awarded from colleges/community organizations/athletics, etc. as they will be presented on Scholarship Night. Copies of scholarships can be emailed to Karen Wetzstein by May 7, 2021 in the Guidance Office. firstname.lastname@example.org
May 21, 2021--Senior Class Trip to location TBD
Begin boarding buses at 8:00am at east entrance. We will return by 4:10pm. Let's have some fun! Bring appropriate clothes for the planned event. We go rain or shine, hot or cold. All bags will be checked. Students who do not attend the class trip must attend school.
May 23, 2021--Baccalaureate Ceremony at 7pm
The ceremony will be held with partnership with United Methodist Church in order to offer a faith-based celebration for seniors. Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the ceremony and dress accordingly as this is a church service, including caps and gowns. Seniors are highly encouraged to attend.
May 26, 2021--Senior Slideshow during BRIDGE
Mrs. Enders will be coordinating the senior slideshow. If you would like to contribute pictures for the senior slideshow please send them to Mrs. Enders by May 1.
May 27, 2021--KoMet Assembly (End of the Year Academic Awards Ceremony for grades 9-12); North Gym, Specific Time TBD.
Parents welcome to attend. Students who earn and academic letter will be recognized at this KoMet Awards Assembly.
Academic Letter: Kasson-Mantorville High School recognizes academic achievement with an academic letter. This letter is the same as the one given in athletics; however, a torch and wreath, symbolizing knowledge or scholarship, will be imprinted on the letter. The first-year letter will receive the academic letter and certificate. Student earning letters for the second and subsequent times will receive a gold bar, with a certificate also awarded each year. To earn an academic letter a student must have a cumulative GPA of 3.667 through the end of 3rd quarter each year. This cum GPA requirement is used for all grades 9-12.

May 28, 2021--Seniors LAST Day of School!
June 3, 2021--Graduation Rehearsal at 9:30am; KMHS Home Federal Arena (in caps/gowns)-
Graduation rehearsal is mandatory for all seniors participating in graduation ceremony. Students are expected to attend the rehearsal, arriving promptly at 9:00am, if they are choosing to walk through ceremony. Breakfast (donuts & bottled water) will be provided. Graduation rehearsal will conclude with the "KoMet Grad Walk". Graduates will walk, in full caps/gowns, over to the KM Elementary School and parade through the hallway, receiving congratulations from our youngest KoMets.
June 6, 2021--Graduation Ceremony; Home Federal Arena @ 2pm
This is the big moment. Graduation begins at 2:00pm sharp. Graduates are expected to be assembled in the Commons at 1:00pm in your cap/gown, dressed appropriately, and ready to represent your parents, community, and yourself well. Enjoy the day!

Week of June 7---Senior "Final" transcripts (meaning stamped with official graduation date) will be sent out this week to colleges/universities seniors requested on their senior survey in March. Colleges require a final transcript for students to complete their college enrollment process as well as verify high school graduation.
