History of FCCLA
 
FCCLA just recently celebrated its 70th birthday in 2015. Here is a timeline of important events in the history of FCCLA:

1945 - FHA (Future Homemakers of America) was founded at a convention in Chicago, Illinois.

1945 - The first issue of Teen Times was published.

1965 - FHA and NHA merged to form one organization.

1966 - Membership peaked at 607,175.

1971 - The organization is expanded to include HERO chapters.

1977 - The last of the 53 state associations affiliates.

1983 - STAR Events--Students Taking Action with Recognition began.

1985 - The Adviser was introduced to chapter advisers.

2003 - "The Ultimate Leadership Experience" was chosen by members as the official tagline.

2008 - The Alumni & Associates online community, www.fcclaalumni.org, was launched.
